UNITED CHARITY GAME MAY 2012

Manchester United Legends came to Daventry Town on May 20th.
In total £24,000 was raised through the gate, sponsorship etc.
The United team were FRASER DIGBY, DENNIS IRWIN, ARTHUR ALBISTON, RAY WILKINS, MIKE DUXBURY, LEE MARTIN, PETER DAVENPORT, DIENIOL GRAHAM, ANDY RITCHIE, FRANK STAPLETON and SAMMY McILROY
3 local players CRAIG BROWN, DAMION PIDGEON and MOWER DAY played as part of the team and the final score was 1-0, scored by Damion.
The crowd was 1150 and everybody enjoyed the day. The chairties supported were the 'MANCHESTER UNITED FOUNDATION', DAVENTRY MIND, THE GARY BARTON MEMORIAL TRUST, BIRMINGHAM CHILDRENS HOSPITAL, REACH FOR HEALTH, NAOMI TATE MEMORIAL FUND, TIMS CHARITY and ABBIES ARMY.
The local players that participated were Dan Carter, Michael Hundley, Alister McDermott, Chris Duff, Luke Chard, Mark Rasbuary, Phil Gardner, Gavin Hanna, Tony Mazzone, Dane Read, Nicky Day, Ray Bradstreet, Mark Ansell, Mark Reece, Lee Pochin, Mark Williams, Travis Cowgill, Alan Kightley, Brian Mudge, Peter Corney, Stevie O'Connor and Russell Berwick.
The game was in stalemate and even had local keeper Russell Berwick make a penalty save in the second half from Andy Ritchie. It was not until late on when Local player Damion Pidgeon scored what ended up being the only goal.
